Internet tough guy much? Please explain how the extra checkbox will affect YOUR gameplay. No, really. I want to hear that. Note - we are not talking about game balance here, just some nauseating eye candy. And the "off" button is sorely needed. The "new" animation still makes me sick.
My actual solution would be to remove the spin/zoom to first person and just have the ship travel in the "tunnel" like in a warp. Noone would be allowed to ***** because we had this for so long without people making complaints and the immersion would still be there because we would not fade to black/have a loading bar.
Technically both side would have what they want but hey, I'm just an internet though guy telling people in EvE to HTFU... |

Nauseating, like first-person shooters.
Also, I cannot but marvel at EVE's community. Yes, a few people did express support for those of us who feel nausea or get headaches. But most posts here seem to come from Tough Guys (TM). Sad.
No subscription from me, because of absolutely unprofessional dev response to this.
The community of a game labeled as "harsh and cold" is "harsh and cold".
News at 11.
What exactly did you expect anyway? |

but it happened FASTER then the fade animation we switched from, and MUCH faster then the new animation
i'm a strong beliver in function before form, and thus, i want the FASTEST switch mode, no matter how it looks (edit: of course i want it pretty after speed has been insured)
look at it this way: it's a disguised loading screen why is it becoming longer just to look better? shouldnt less loading time be the desired goal here? No argument here - better load times > pretty bells and whistles

While we can appreciate the concerns that some people have regarding server performance, these can be cleared up very easily. The animation for the transition has absolutely zero effect on the server, or the time it takes for you to travel from system to system. In fact, the time it takes for the client to unload/load data about systems has been reduced drastically (~50%).
If only you knew what you are talking about... |

Deacon Abox wrote:Welp, Ranger1 - click, hide posts. I suggest you do the same with mine. Because I'll keep posting about my discomfort from (and my dislike for) these new graphics. at least until I unsub if they don't fix them by September
It's been about 6 month since you were suppose to unsub if it was not fixed. Guess it does not bother you all that much. |

Deacon Abox wrote:It makes so much sense to allow people to turn off turret effects, missile effects, explosions, drone models, etc, but to deny the ability to turn off the autoscan and gate jump visuals.
Those visuals can be disaabled because they can cause performance issue for the client on older computer. Has anyone ever had trouble rendering the cam swooping or the autoscan? |

Uhh..who's forcing you to play? Biomass and unsub. I bet you are a great business man with this type of mentality.
You can't always give in to costumer either unless ending with a huge clusterfuck of different things is your goal. |

I'm just surprised they couldn't come up with something better than "there is no old system anymore". What did they do... Destroy all saved files then use a MIB Neuralyzer on their employees so all traces were destroyed? It reminds me of "The dog ate my homework" story used by school children. The system is there. Just jump through a wormhole. That's all people want.
So in a pure EVE-o fashion, we can tell all the people affected by this to go play in WH if they are not happy right? |

Jesus Christ...is that the new thing now?
I'm pretty sure telling people to play a different way instead of asking for a change about something has been common for quite a long time here. |

I just hope that one day, CCP will stop being stubborn and just correct the small details. I seriously doubt that they can afford to stay like this forever while new competitors are coming. I wonder how much potential players Eve didn't attract because of that, as this game don't deserve to stay a niche...
To stop being a niche game, it would have to go away from the component making ti a niche game and that would basically mean going away from the core foundation on what the game is built... It's not details like the jump animation that cause it to be a niche game. |

Deacon Abox wrote:Hey CCP Mannbjorn and CCP Vertex I'm sure you didn't miss this thread. Are you really are that dishonest and dense. This lengthy and long-lasting thread needs a resurrection I guess. Just because most people either gave up on you doing the right thing and regularly have to turn away from the screen, or possibly left the game, doesn't give you guys a pass. Let go of your ego attachment to this animation. Let it be optional for those it affects adversely.
You and a bunch of other people posting over and over again keeping this thread alive does not mean it has many complaints. Only that there are a few people who bother to still ***** about it. Do you have any hard number for the number of affected player while trying to deny the few complaints statement? |
